Like A Red Rose
If you were a song
I know how you would sound
A rock-ballad
which lasts all day long
Your words would be refined
well formed and everlasting
the kind of words
that never leaves my mind
Like a red rose
newly sprung and beautiful
I would listen to your song
and feel you were ever so close
But if you were a song
we could never be together
I could hear you
but never touch you
and that would hurt me
even if I were ever so strong.
