Library Wednesday
The chilly red doors -
Squeak open before me like the front doors of hell.
Nervous Secrecy -
Cradles my blistered hand and leads the way
To the multitude of books -
Which populate the wall-shelves like cat in the mushroom farm.
Tell me - why do you stalk me?
Every Wednesday - will this repetition be normalcy?
I already hear your footsteps -
Closing in on my path.
I won't forever tolerate -
There in the small room - this ache and hate.
I will dismantle the grasps of your clutches -
When school is no longer my fate.
The flowers will bloom - the leaves will be born -
And I will graduate.
