Johnny’s Safari

Animal crackers wait to be released
While Johnny’s appetite is increased
With small hands, he reaches inside
Hunting for a tasty tiger that resides

With radar fingers he tries to differentiate
He imagines the forms as he concentrates
No, not this one... its long neck is too tall
Certainly not this… it’s tail is none at all

Ah ha, Johnny is confident that he as found
The most feared ferocious beast around
A firm grip is lifting the bagged trophy into sight
Soon to be welcomed by an enthusiastic bite

Surprisingly the form is not what was expected
Realization erases the image that was depicted
It is a bulbous Rhino; small fingertips were blind
Chomp! All the same, it is still a flavorful find

Once again, the fervent expedition commences
Sharpened awareness fine tunes tactile senses
Continue searching for traits that are distinct
A full tummy now concludes; the tiger is extinct!
