I dream so much
The last few moments
I dreamed so much
dreamed about flying
and hearts I could touch
Afterwards I woke in pain
cried for another dream
wept for more slumber
hoping to shut down, just lean
just lean,
relax
smile in my sleep
rehears facts
Being that little boy
Saturday morning
watching cartoons
soggy cereal, -more milk pouring!
Yes
those were good dreams
moments of bliss
gone, though they seem
fresh like this
like that
like those
good dreams, I slept
then woke
then wept
dreaming mostly
to turn back
the clock
for a moment
life saving time
who owns it
and afterwards
I'd leap forward
in my Delorian
past the boardwalk
of a good dream
with ice cream
Mommy's corn bread
Daddy's muscle creme
My sister
her many dolls
my Transformers
hiding my dirty 'draws'
The good dream
the homework
Catholic school uniforms
bone-white starched shirts
still smiling
and looking back
just leaning
gleaming, -dreaming on track
