Clean Sweep #2
submerged
body tethered
like an animal
with umbilical cord
shark, mouse, incessant dancer
three-wheeled prowler
your heart hums in my ears
your tail undulates
as you travel your seabed
eating scraps
so much time we have
spent together Polaris
navigator of the deep
I give you the gift
of respite as I retract
you from your sea
