Black Rabbit
Under the hedgerow
The black rabbit pauses
Eyes bright as diamonds.
Fur black as coal
It has survived the sharp vision
And hunting skills of predators.
The rabbit hops away
And a slender stoat appears
Relentlessly following the scent.
