Attempt

Once I rode an elephant of the ilk of horses but slower than snails;
I traveled around the world through the mountains, roads and rails,
It took me to the sorcerous country with fairies and flower hails;
To the good and generous peoples who care and felicity prevails;
They received and fed me and my elephant without any assails;
For all I found this new magical land had nothing but sweat of travails.

For the next morning I never wished but surprised to see
Snow White, Ice Princess, Cinderella, Jasmine and Alice;
I saw many fortresses, castles, jungles and the talking bee,
I never felt so magical and happy that I wanted time to cease,
Children of all color and young ones of all animals all were surprise;
I was entertained and celebrated with the most beautiful emcee.

The world I came from was a lot different and I lied
“I live in a beautiful country where with peace all bide;
The birds sing, the cows moo, we eat and no one cried
We live happily and healthily and no one ever died”
Applaud came from all over like a million crackers fired;
My wish came true as as never before I was so deeply admired.

I didn’t miss my home, I didn’t miss my friends, I didn’t think;
I found new joy, new entertainment, new homage and I lost my stink;
I charmed and kissed all beautiful girls and I had my drink,
I roamed around the country and watched everything without a blink,
To write a poem I sat down and dipped my pen in the ink;
Syllables flew, I started likening my world and my heart was going to shrink.

Seven days later handsome, handing and happy I was a lot;
Without a trace of my pen or the ink or the poem or the thought,
My old belongings, my family, my friends and foe all I got
For I was back in my sweet old country and with everyone I fought;
The life of mermaids, magic and mystic I had long forgot
When faded the whisper or whimper or better something naught. :)
