As I Plant A Bouquet
“But can I feel the
salt in her tears
stinging my skin
I wonder aloud...”
sridevi data (2010/08/22)
And as I let my fins
brush the water’s edge
my mermaid’s mind
begins a tune
with shimmering ripples
of the sea
making sweet sound like a sitar
as I watch the glowing
sea anemones winding waywardly
around the bed-rock where I sit
waiting for the choir
of blue dolphins
in the heart of the sea
only to echo in this moment
the rhyme and rhythm
of my handsome mariner
as I plant a bouquet of sea-shells
upon my dark and curly hair.
