A Funny Thing
We were childhood friends
Oh how we so ignorantly thought
Those days would never end
And so they did
My heart nearly broke
When she moved away
I swore I'd see her again
Somehow, someway
A couple of years later
I was a bit too late
Seeing her with him
Her and her Prom date
It nearly broke my heart
When he broke hers
But I was there for her
Together again, isn't it nice?
Love is a funny word
Love is a funny thing
It seems to come
Just 2 seconds too late
Then it goes
And makes your day
