The power of nothing
in a world where nothing existed
(it was very quiet)
The nothing people had no lives
and therefore nothing to live for
The nothing preacher preached nothing
And so there was only nothing to believe in
There were no people fat or thin
So there was nothhing to diet for
Nothing slunk about or did he or she or it?
unseen not even a private detective could account for nothings movements
1 Because there was no private detective
2 because there was only nothing, sexless unseen unquantifiable
So how did the nothing people know in their absence, that nothing
existed?
The silence was heavy with pregnant pauses
Nothing appeared
at the end of the world or,
in the beginning
before one living microbe made it's miniscule appearance
There was absolutely nothing
Absolute in being simple or complex in nothingness
An acute on chronic attack of perpetual nothing
It is powerful
Sly
sinister
long may it he she
reign
It takes a fool to harness the power of nothing
To leap into the murky waters of a certain abyss
on luminous fateful day
Capitulating all other whimsical fancies
The dullard genius who idly flicks a switch repeatedly
Announces
I BELIEVE in NOTHING
metaphysical quest beyond thing?
Or lazy sap obsessed button presser?
The depressed cry 'I feel like nothing'
But was does nothing feel?
How can nothing feel with no hands?
or soul or heart?
The sceptic says'There is nothing out there but a black hole'
Well there's a black hole, hardly nothing
And yet nothing continues to both liberate and oppress us
In one moment
Triumph and failure
losses and gains
Are encapsulated even symbolised by the power of
Nothing a word with a multiplicity of meanings
Yet nothing sneaks upon us when we are not looking
In the middle of the night 'a creak on the stairs'
You go to investigate guess who?
Nothing is there
Doing nothing involves
Doing
And
Nothing
It is a dual interaction between two states
of activity and inactivity
Being 'Active in doing nothing'
I did nothing all day?
nothing but, (not quite nothing)
The power of nothing
Is in nothing itself
Absolutely nothing
No thing
Nuffing
Nothing
De serts of vast eternity
