That no one's there
And no one cares
Enough to
Reply
With a sigh
Or a word
Or two
A lack of reply
Is a sign
That you

Are alone
In the world
In your room
In the street where you walk
Unheard
No
no one is listening to you
Why?
You still ask
'Is there no reply? '
But nobody answers
The phone line appears to be engaged
For the hundreth time
'Wrong number? , '
You say to yourself
So you text and flex your fingers on your keys
Sending a thousand Sos's to a world that has blocked it's ears
No one hears,
Or cares
And so unheard
You leave in silence
Your letters will soon arrive in the post
'Returned to sender! '
NO REPLY!
(The message read.....'Please return my ball point pen and stop taking my packed lunch AND eating it.
