A metaphor
Some stay chastised
Some henpecked
Rain checked
Some battered
Some under dark shades disguised
Some despise
And are despised
And yet even after so much brutality
Mixed words
Fragile tears at innocence
They bear life
Under the weight
Of heavy handed
Leery stares
Full of meat markets
And check out queues
And in between
The prayers
And confession
The pure white essence of 'a fading grey'
Between the mockery and the flattery
The sunday joint and the battery
Amidst the prism of a thousand scrutinsing eyes
After the truth
And the lies
They bear one truth your life
Precious forever her fruitfulness
Woman standing amidst a flood of tears
Unforgotten her mark
Her blood on the stamp of history
Amidst the warring world
She carried you
To were you are standing
No metaphor for woman better
Than her womb
It speaks life!
