Adam and The Angel
Birds of prey
But are stuck to the ground
Trying to fly
When there's no one around
I will one day earn my wings
And fly far away
From this place of hate
And take you with me
I Toss away fate
There is no such thing
As destiny
There is only what happens
When you leave things be
Fly away
Far away
I took the pills, but kept the pain
Fly away
Far away
Those words, pitched soft, hit hard my brain
-------
I am not running
I am just wond'ring
Why the gods must hate me so
Banished from heaven
No drug can lessen
The pain in my heart
A volley of arrows
straight up the hair goes
my neck; feels worse than broken
debt of destruction
How can I function
With boulders on my back
-------
Heavier than earth itself
Is the fact that you hate me
It was all for you
Why can't you see though
The illusions, to the truth
Fly away
Far away
I will make my wings if they don't regrow
Fly away
Far away
Give me a chance so that I can show
I would kill myself just to see you smile
I would run circles around the sun
But you fail to see what is meant to be
And cast away love like bullet from gun
I lost my wings
Just to be with you
be with you
Tore down my throne
since it's not for you
not for you
I can stand life
But can't stand alone
So please,
stay by my side
And we'll fly away
Far away
I'm not sure what I've done but I will atone
Fly away
Far away
Give me a chance; you'll never be alone
Fly away
Far away
it seems you long for something more too
Fly away
Far away
Take me in and let all our dreams come true
