Vetrans Day

I give you my thanks
though it may seem trifle
For the time you spent
clutching your rifle

I hope you feel proud
each and every day
For you served your country
in more than one way

If someone shakes you hand
may you feel thanks in their grip
I hope you see thanks in their tear
appreciation in their quivering lip

I know these are just words
but they come from the heart
They are meant to honor a Veteran
for doing more than his or her part

America enjoys so much
because of Veterans like you
You protected us and our flag
and now your honor is due
