IGNORANCE AND WANT...by talile ali

I was struck numb
By the blatantly clear perspective
Of the words and ideas from
A Christmas Carol.

How can it be that with all of this understanding
About attending to the needs of the masses
For it enhances our ability to be nurtured and advance
Be discarded as some fallacy perpetuated by some dumb-classes

Apparently
We still need some reminding.
We should not need to be scared as
Ebenezer Scrooge was in his findings

We should do it because
We desire our society
To be more than it is
At present

All but a few at the top
with the majority
serving them
all peasants

Kennedy made a pledge
And set a goal for a nation
To walk on the moon
And we did, dude

We need to set a goal for ourselves
That no person in the USA
Is without shelter, fair medical care,
A job, and food

Is this really too much to do?
For me?
For you?
Then who are we listening to?
