Love Sonnet 46 My Love Sent Me A Song So Soft and Sweet

My love sent me a song so soft and sweet,
Like melody that lulls babies to sleep,
Hinting of angels in their dreams to meet,
Assured in cradle of a mother's keep;
Like breeze that wafts, each note would float about,
Amid the scents pervading forest glades,
Where sun would smile to flowers in its route,
And moon peeps through when night has drawn its shades;
In countless sighs, my heart recalls her touch,
Conveyed by lilting keys and crescendo drops,
Distance lessens the feeling by so much,
At least, never before the singing stops;
.....The song, now in my heart, constantly plays,
.....As long as dreams are dreams, therein it stays.
