Love Sonnet 18 Humanity that floods the cobbled street,
Humanity that floods the cobbled street,
Engulfs me to be dragged along with throngs,
Lost among strangers, or what else to meet,
In dearth of friends, my agony prolongs;
As faces pass, like flowers on array,
They burst to colors, each of striking hues,
Exuding scents that in the air would stay,
In mixed fragrance to whose strangeness accrues;
But as my thoughts dwell on your love so fair,
The strangest place torments me all in vain,
Detained to thirst, and yet freed from that lair,
For this crag, seemed that skies portend of rain;
.....When soon the flood of faces would subside,
.....Hope we endure, to take all these in stride.
