A Note To God
By my bed, by my bed
Alone, literally alone
What do I see?
What do I hear?
What do I feel?
On my knees I surrender
Perceiving thoughts
Beseeching hopes
And pressing on
With expectancy I live by
Daring the day to grow old
Seeking the fruit to ripe
On my knees I surrender
What do I see?
Targeted visions, reaching consensus
Amid untoward compromises
Poverty in riches, apples with mangoes
On my knees I surrender
Screaming louder, loudly
What do I hear?
Long-stretching voices
Themes tapping shoulders with optimism
Brimming ears with plausible edifiication
What do I feel?
Not a peril in terribles
Consignment amid assignment
Smearing the body with a spurt of alabasta
By my bed
On my knees I surrender
A note to God
