Rain and Love
There is a chill
in the summer's air tonight
Ice in a voice
telling me, 'all is alright.'
'I abandoned love
a decade ago
Without love
there's nowhere to go.'
And as the clouds gather
the rain never comes
Without the rain
life never comes
So much traffic
on a dark one way street
So many thoughts
my past left incomplete
A very limp handshake
veiled snide remarks
Through all of the smoke
clearly the difference is stark
There's ice in your veins
a chill in your voice
For abandoned/betrayed love
you show no remorse
