The Night Of You
Did not the night smile on my joy to tread,
when all my visions and dreams was you,
and when my fright buffed rue,
did not the dark plunge its dread?
To be in thy joyful stead,
this lonesomeness shall take the place of you,
and when the memories in taunt i swoonly view,
all i could see in the midnight dread -
a memory of her,
anoda memory of me,
in shades of haze i gaze,
and then a memory of us together,
all in ablution i see,
again in the eerie nightly faze.
