Dillemma
When you are alone and bereft
And no longer so deft
You wonder what to do
Live alone or with the children as they urge you.
You have to choose between a life
Of loneliness and silence that is rife
Only with memories from the past
Which are going to haunt you till you last.
Or start afresh with a child
Slipping into their life in a manner mild
Where you can be sure to hear
The sounds of life and cheer
Rather than live with fear
Alone where no one can hear
Your silent cry for human touch
At times as such
When you are feeling low
And potter around the house in a manner slow
It’s not an easy decision
As there is’nt much scope for revision
Once you make up your mind
To try to find
A place in your child’s house
Without a grouse.
At such a moment there‘s no doubt
In your mind about
The truth that you are past your prime
And must gracefully accept the march of time.
