Forest Follies

The Green Man
and the gargoyle
sat idly by.

As the forest
caught fire
and the flames
they grew high.

Till mountains of smoke
had covered the sky.

Then down flew the fairies
in fury they came.

And battle they did
with that furious flame.

Sending in torrents
of free falling rain.

Then away
to the mountain
the fairies did fly.

As the souls
of the forest
did softly sigh.
