Play By My Rules
Here you come again,
knocking on my heart,
begging to be let in.
Are you intentions real,
or will I get played again?
I don't care because,
you're never getting let back in,
I keep it locked away,
safe from those like you,
safe from those who only
want to damage it.
What did it,
ever do to you,
except give you all it had?
Was that not enough then,
but is it sufficient now?
What's your deal,
you come back like nothing happened,
don't give me that,
we both know better,
we know how this story will end.
It will end with me crying
at the wide open door,
that you walked out of.
No,
not again,
I'm not playing your little games.
Now it's my turn,
to set the rules,
like them or not,
that's how I'll play:
by my rules, not yours.
