Only One On My Mind

As I sit here,
thinking of all my dreams,
you're the only one on my mind,
so it seems.

It's kind of funny,
that it had to be you,
that I'd be thinking of,
if you only knew.

The way you smile,
captures my heart,
I just hope,
it's not ripped apart.

You make my day,
just by being there,
also the way you love,
and the way you care.

You've told me that,
you've got a heart for mankind,
but to others,
you act so blind.

You tell me you're scared,
of others knowing you,
as well as you say,
that I do.

You're so open to me,
but to others you're not,
but honestly though,
it means a lot.

How you can be honest,
and open with me,
how there's nothing hidden,
between us you'll see.

All of this,
comes to my mind,
as I turn to leave,
all of it behind.

It seems though,
that I can't leave you,
in the past,
every word is true.

You're one of the things,
I can count on in life,
to always be there,
without strife.

You've always been there for me,
every step of the way,
I hope I'll always be there for you,
with no delay.

You're my light,
when I've lost my path,
you're always in the equation,
and the aftermath.
