Blackened Heart

What would you do,
if you did see,
a little girl just sitting,
and crying there?
Would you not comfort her,
or would you walk on by?
Would you help her,
or let her insides die?
What would you say,
if i did tell you,
this little girl would grow,
and change every inch,
of this very same world?
She would grow to be,
the change we need,
she would be,
the rock to the foundation.
That would change things,
would it not?
Now you'd rush to,
aid her side.
You'd help her to stand.
But yet you wouldn't be,
thinking of her,
you'd be thinking only,
of that selfish black heart you own.
Stop with the games,
stop playing by your rules,
stop making sure that,
only you can win.
Try being someone else,
for a split second,
like in my tale,
try being that little girl.
Harder than it seems?
Well maybe it's because,
you truly do,
have a blackened heart.
