Dappled Dusk
She is the blue of the blue bird
I am the darkness lurching
The sullen holes where rain gets in
Razor streets where death hunts
Friends with their names on walls
Gone forever yet the gunrunners smile
Governments make bad decisions
Jungles filled with heroin
Jungles of alcoholics
Jungles of the used and set-aside
Happiness sometimes seems illusive
I hope we make it as a couple
We walk on this fine late fall day
Dappled dusk reminds me of war
