Ordinary Advice for an Extraordinary Widow
Shorten your favourite skirt
Four fingers above the knees
And do not put a hem on it
Put on your makeup like a whore
Dye your hair red
And put on your red sandals
Go to the village pub alone
Order the most horrible drink and
Smile at the first man who looks at you
Memories are what
Happened yesterday
Start living again
For you are worth a lot
Every similarity with a character
of a widow I once knew Is intentional.
