A Surreal Moment
in the midnight hours
my soul abruptly taps
me on my cheek
into wakefulness
all around me
faint shadows of
increasing complexities
and absurdities grow
larger than life and
present a shadow play
on the surrounding blank walls
i let my mind footloose
how many flyovers
to ease the congestion!
my feet inadvertantly
lead me into the southwest balcony
from where i see
the stars losing their shine
the moon fast waning
an occasional light
dotting the vacant inky highway
and the landscape freezes
into a surreal silhouette
