From a daughter to her Dad
I have a personal angel
I call him - Dad
With him looking out for me
Nothing can go bad
A practical man,
With a soft touch,
He's a pillar of support
I treasure very much
From fairytales
To inspiring thoughts
He's nourished my mind
Taught me lots
He sees the silver lining
Behind every dark cloud
Giving hope to those near him
Stands tall in a crowd
Jack of all trades
And master of some too
To exceed your potential
He inspires you
A son to his parents
And in laws too
A father to his daughters
Their cousins love him too
A husband who cares
And a brother too
Men like him
are to few
Today on your 50th birthday,
There are a few things I have to say
I am blessed to have you as my dad
The greatest gift from God I ever had
I gift you a promise
Of trying to be
The kind of person
You want me to be
I shall try my best
To live by principles
That you instilled in us
Through personal examples
I shall try to honour
The values you teach
Strive for a goal
Beyond my reach
In return I ask you
To be by my side
As I change roles in life
Be my guide
You showed me the way
Until I could see
Let me do the same
When the need may be
I love you Dad
As you know
No matter who I become, where I go
I will always be your daughter
I just want you to know.
