Constant Change

The tables turn so fast
I already feel an outcast
When things sail smooth
And you settle in
A cozy corner
With calm rosy dreams
Like a blitzkrieg
The reality crashes
Deals such blows
Leaves you with deep gashes

Why do things change?
Why cant one rest
Assured that tomorrow
Will be the same as today
And no up-heal
Will cast you away

Why do ears
That understood silence
Suddenly turn deaf
And words intrude conversations
Which used to be speechless.

Why do hands
That hugged you tight
Kept you safe
From the turmoil inside
Leave your clasp
And slide away
Creating emotion
That gives you away

Change is my enemy
Coz it requires effort
To transform the web
I have woven around me
It's forceful & hurtful,
Difficult to foresee.

Had it required
Only adjusting my course
I wouldn't be complaining
But change demands
Rebuilding, redefining
Bridges of the past
And infuse them with strength
So that they last.
