The 90 Day Return Policy
at night
i hear her
and i hear you with her
and i hear the
movement
the replacement of me
the guiltless exchange
the foolproof return policy
the breath of the night
tries to kiss me to sleep
but i hear her
and i remember
the way you used to
pick me up
in one
sweeping
scoop
and my stomach still buzzes
from where your
thumbs
used to trace me
and i was never more
alive
than i was with you
and i was never closer
to
smelling the earth
to sleeping in my plot
to the weight
of my name
stamped on a headstone
than i am
now
