Confessional Regret
Once I had thought
If love was true
I would be happy if you were too
But that was once and I'm a fool
Because I met the likes of you
Your love and linger smile
Tortures life's every mile
Because I know
The hand you hold belongs to another
And to gasp as I look back
To once upon a time
To a heart who felt like mine
Oh how I played and battered their mind
Unknowing the crime
Expected their best
To them
This apology please accept
My confessional regret
