The Poet's Answer Is the Poem
The poet’s answer is the poem
Even when Poetry is irrelevant-
The poet reads the situation
As if its soul can be told in words-
The poet is a fool of course
Enslaved to what he is and what he does
He makes the poem everything
When sometimes it is nothing at all-
I am that poet I suppose
I am that fool certainly.
