The Errands Of Life Forfeit The Soul
THE ERRANDS OF LIFE FORFEIT THE SOUL
The errands of life forfeit the soul
One needs time alone with oneself
To truly be what one is-
All day long I have been somewhere else doing things for others-
Now tired at the end of the day
I am at last where
I can write the few lines
Which mean what I am this day-
And though they be poor and bleak
Still writing them here
I know I am myself – at last.
