The Unfinished Business
things would have ended well
and the best goodbye could have been said
in a smile the wave of the hand and the letting go of the sigh
something perfectly orchestrated by the hand the lips and the feet
but something outside holds you to stay and your hair
brush against each lock
not wanting to go
because there is something that was left undone
still tangled on the twigs of the burning bush
there is a voice there that wants to utter your name
telling you
wait, i still love you, please don't go
