The Plunge Of The Child In The Old River
i hear the splash
of the old river
i was that little
child diving from
a bent coconut tree
i dream of crocodiles
waiting their mouths
wide open
my body so frail
and pale and
in one flash of
the wink of an eye
the little child was gone
and there came back
the heroic man in me
not magic just being stoic
