Three Kisses
Tonight as I stood beneath the stars
my neck was kissed by a breeze.
From a distant land it carried a love
that one seldom feels or sees..
A week ago I asked the breeze to carry
three kisses across the sea.
The first kiss was to my love’s psyche,
so she would look towards me.
The second kiss was to touch her lips,
and to slightly catch her breath,
so she would then think of me and know
that our separation is worse than death.
The third kiss would give her consolation
and remind her we’ll be together soon,
and our love is as great as the sky itself,
with its grey mornings and sunny afternoons.
I had a feeling that she would catch a breeze
and to it attach a kiss.
It brought me the reassurance of her love,
which dispelled my unhappiness.
