To an almost unknown poet as of now
Poetry and that's without quote marks
poetry is the place for the big things
and long may it be
but that would be an inappropriate dialling tone right now;
quiet sincere OK?
You
regard the world with
affection
it's the first time I used that word in a poem
and meant it.
Affection.
I hear the angels murmuring it among themselves.
