The foolish verges on the wise
You hear it said at
the oddest times and in
the strangest places
often with a knife-blade at
your chest or
a thumb expertly on
your wind-pipe or
a hand itching towards
a holster or the belt of jeans
nobody tells me what to do
seldom are the crime,
self-knowledge
and the remedy put
so succinctly
together
