From One Illusion To The Next
They want him to represent,
That magician remembered...
And seen under the big tent.
The one with the wand,
Making things disappear.
Pulling rabbits out of hats.
To have the people laugh and cheer.
They want him to be,
The one who will heighten their fantasies.
The one who will lead them,
From one illusion to the next.
The one who has perfected...
A delivery of their expectations.
Anything else they are prepared to reject.
They want him to correct,
Every flaw they can not face.
They want him to erase their mistakes.
And take the blame for decisions they make.
They want him to entertain!
With an ability to remove from them,
Every trace of accountability spotted that stains.
