The Stars Twinkle
I was on guard to defend the border
In any war time it is done by an order
I was happy with only one bright hope
Felt no pain at all while exercising on rope
She was to deliver third child
The news itself got me wild
I was to be dad again
She was at home and awaited labor pain
I was at home to witness the delivery
It was conditional leave given in hurry
I was to report back if was sent with any intimation
I was not at all worried about any situation
Oh, God what is this happening
Wife is hale and hearty and no sign of labor pain
I was worried about her final stage
All family members were excited and ready to manage
I departed home with no good news
The delivery date was near and due
Upon reaching post, I got message
Wife had delivered a son in good health
I was in sky again with lots of excitement
It was one of the happiest moment
But alas! The happiness lived for short time
The child was no more and buried in short time
The child had developed some breathing problem
No doctor could provide help in time
He breathed his last and left deep scar
I was weeping in tent and world seemed very far
'The rose flower is no more' brother wrote in his letter
'It is beyond our reach' we can do no more
I cried and hit head on wall in disbelief
Cadets offered me some water to provide relief
I often go past by that memory
Pain is caused at heart and makes me sorry
I am helpless human being and can do nothing
Almighty is there to look after and take care for something
The stars twinkle in sky
I see his reflection and try to identify
Think often where he would have been placed!
A position carved in my mind can never be replaced
