Fire in the Night
by a fire in the night
meat on the spit
listen to the crackle & darkness breathing...
whispering ghosts
nothing needs to be said
stillness is the bridge
close yr eyes & stare
at drawings on the cave walls
old dog startled, stands up
as if the fur on his back
can feel the presence!
only the smell of black coffee...
& the prayers of the moon!
