The Silence Engulfs Me
The silence engulfs me
on a starless night.
And somber feelings
become my plight.
But God, allow one star to shine
and there is no silence
that is mine.
For the twinkle that my eyes can see
erases all somberness
engulfing me.
The feeling is replaced
by overpowering joy.
It strikes in me a melody
that silence cannot
ever destroy.
