Torment
Head held bowed.
Eyes half open.
Hoping no one notices me.
So I can remain hidden.
From those who would accuse,
and the hurt they hurl.
That I was to blame,
for their own failures.
Why do I feel sorry,
for something I haven't done?
Why do I want to walk,
head bowed in shame?
I'll take their blame.
I have nothing to hide.
I bare no ill will towards them,
for sacrificing me.
What excuses will they use,
for the hurt they've hurled?
Tomorrow they will forget.
Acting as if nothing happened.
