Tibet- A Lost Land and People

They want to live in peace,
The people of the ‘Roof of th’ world’;
They want to sleep in Nature’s lap,
But cannot do with ease!

A Buddhist country wedged between
World’s two most-populous nations;
Twelve thousand feet high MSL;
A culture most unique.

The Chinese eyes were on Tibet,
They’d eyed the plateau high;
The Dalai Lama- their leader
Is in exile in India.

One thirty-thousand refugees,
Are mostly in India;
They want Tibet’s independence,
But China won’t accede.

The Dalai Lama Who Loved Wine, Women and Song

Here the May lilacs blossom in the garden
Their fragrance sprawls in the air of spring.

Yet my mind drifts on wings of a daydream
To a far away land of peach-treed valleys
Embraced by snow-capped mountains.

One night there on the Roof of the Earth
A young man in the holy city of Lhasa
Listened to the chanting of mantras
Not for the sake of enlightenment
But in order to sense her breath.

That month he span all the pray wheels
Not for the sake of freeing his soul
But in order to touch her finger prints.

That year he prostrated on the ground
With his hands clasping the earth
Not for the sake of adoring Buddha

Martin Scorsese

What the Dalai Lama had to resolve was whether to stay in Tibet or leave. He wanted to stay, but staying would have meant the total destruction of Tibet, because he would have died and that would have ripped the heart out of his people.

Truthful

I met a truthful man from Tibet

Who found the world to be a null set

And laughed at the world and its love for death

He vanished into laughter

That cried-Was there anything called life

Was Tibet ever alive

So that it might die of cholera

Or of an attack of heat wafted from Amudaria

I Hear The Cry

i hear the cry....
oppression, enslavement,
beatings, torture, rapes,
and killings.
people of heart,
slaughtered like sheep.
monks self-immoliating,
crying out for justice,
and freedom,
for basic human dignity,
for basic human rights...
i hear the cry...
of Tibet on fire.
and am ashamed
to be part of a world
turned blind and deaf!

free Tibet!

Veto-powered Membership in UNO

Some bigoted leaders heading some nations
sent shipments of arms to kill civilian Tamils
in the war-torn SriLanka ruled by inhuman Buddhists.
The Tamils are locked in a three-decades-war
with the brutal Sinhalese to free their Eelam soil.
Lakhs of Tamils were bombed en masse, and burnt alive.
Sites of mass-burials are strewn with corpses over.
The women and girls were raped, butchered and left to rot.
The Tibet-occupier China has supplied a chemical to Lanka
to hasten the decay of the fossils of the dead.
What is done in Tibet to capture the land
was carried out in a short time in Lanka.
Does Buddha, the God of the poor-folk, revel to see,
one-lakh war-widows in the Eelam land of Tamils?
Is the veto-powered membership of China in UNO
to annihilate the weaker races and nations?
