Reflects The Soul

Your eyes are like a mirror
that reflects your soul.
Some eyes are dark as cobalt
and reflect the deed they do.
Others are a shade of gold
reflect a heart that cares.
While others reflect great sadness
from ill treatment somewhere.
Whatever colour are your eyes
it is not the colour of your soul.
Some people with dark eyes
as jet black as the night.
Hold the gentlest touch
when it comes to others of mankind.
The colour of your eyes
is never an indication to your soul.
It is only passed the colour
does that reflect the soul.

Departing In A Well Of Tears

tears do not reflect the years
a great love broken by death
is a flood that tears landscape
inflicting mortal wounds years
cannot erase to restore lost love

tears do not reflect the years
an abusive love is better lost
heart chokes on dessert dust
soul can not swallow coarse
sand grating on afflicted soul

tears do not reflect the years
yet a well of tears shed rapid
leaves body dehydrated husk
lifeless an empty broken well
yet well of tears drowns lives

Bring Me Flowers

Bring me flowers when I am living
Don't bring me them when I am dead
Let me enjoy them in the giving
My mother always had said.
Let me hold them in my hands
and smell there fragrant scent
Then I will reminisce of different lands
Before; I am heaven sent.
I will reflect back when I was young
Or I might think back not long ago
When I walked underneath the sun
Or when I felt the wind as it blowed.

Mirror

Oh! Mirror the most loveable, cunning queen
You reflect in mostly whatever you have seen.
Face is the mirror of the soul
Literature is the face of the society as a whole

Fearful dream (with cluster bombs)

My ancestors left Odessa on the Black Sea shore
For England, the USA, Australia
They unfastened the commandments
From their doorposts when they left
They did not abandon the Mosaic precepts
For the sake of Zion.

One dark night, I was plunged into a dream:
Terrain transformed, landscapes on fire with fear
They fired on us, we fired on them
Our children hid in shelters
While their children fled

And when the UN ceasefire was signed
The children came to their villages again
And through my sorry dream they wandered, lost
Looking for their homes and schools
And water safe enough to boil
Crying, distraught, the girls and boys

Feast No Longer On Heartbreak Or Loss

I sit on the waters edge trying to catch a cool breeze,
While the hot sun pours down on my heart,
Thoughts and experiences from the past come and go,
The waters edge place to reflect,
