Quotes about locket

Amy Lowell

The Cremona Violin

Part First

Frau Concert-Meister Altgelt shut the door.
A storm was rising, heavy gusts of wind
Swirled through the trees, and scattered leaves before
Her on the clean, flagged path. The sky behind
The distant town was black, and sharp defined
Against it shone the lines of roofs and towers,
Superimposed and flat like cardboard flowers.

A pasted city on a purple ground,
Picked out with luminous paint, it seemed. The cloud
Split on an edge of lightning, and a sound
Of rivers full and rushing boomed through bowed,
Tossed, hissing branches. Thunder rumbled loud
Beyond the town fast swallowing into gloom.
Frau Altgelt closed the windows of each room.

She bustled round to shake by constant moving
The strange, weird atmosphere. She stirred the fire,

Yan ba'y binili mo o merong nagbigay? '
''Di ko 'to binili, bigay 'to ni Inay.
At ang litrato mo'y dito daw ilagay
Sagisag ng tunay ko na pagmamahal.'

'Ay ang ganda naman, puwede bang makita? '
'Aba'y puwedeng-puwede, siyempre, mahal kita.'

Nakita ni mahal ang kanyang larawan
At kilig na kilig, ako'y hinalikan
Kasabay ang sabing 'Ay! Ang sweet mo naman! '

Ngitngit ni Bathala, locket, nabitawan

Locket Love

Locket Love
Lovely lovely locket love
You could use a little of
Hang a chain around you
You're hangin' too
Hang on a little bit longer
Hang on you're a goner
Lovely lovely locket love
Cause a picture never does
Try to expose you
For what you put me through
Hang on a little bit longer
Hang on you're a goner
Never never can tell
How hard you fell
Lovely lovely locket 'cause
The best poison of
Lovely lovely locket love
You got a pocket of
Lovely little tricks you do

Take Hold Of That Star

Take hold of that star , I give to you
And tell me that you love me
Just as I love you la la la la
Take hold of that star , and put it in your locket
And tell me that you love me
Just as I love you la la la la
Id give you the moon, or the sun
Or the starlights with a love so true
And if it rains, Ill give you a rainbow too
Take hold of that star and put it in your locket
And tell me that you love me
Just as I love you la la la la
Id give you the moon , or the sun
Or the starlights with a love so true
And if it rains , Ill give you a rainbow too
Take hold of that star and put it in your locket
And tell me that you love me
Just as I love you la lala lala lala
La lala lala lala
La lala as I love you

Television And Watches 412b

WHERE in flat time,
where marbles turn
to gold, and vampires
fill their canteens
with water or coke.
MEDITATE,
MEDITATE, says the man,
for in this story, there
is hope, and a locket
of your lovers hair.
WHERE in flat time,
where the shades are
pulled down, and the
moon starts to weep,
as the lovers depart.
MEDITATE,
MEDITATE, says the man,
for in this story there
is hope, and a locket of
your lovers hair.

The Locket

From out her shabby rain-coat pocket
The little Jew girl in the train
Produced a dinted silver locket
With pasted in it portraits twain.
"These are my parents, sir" she said;
"Or were, for now I fear they're dead.

"I know to Belsen they were sent;
I never heard of them again.
So many were like that - they went,
Our woeful quest was all in vain.
I was in London with a friend,
Or I, too, would have shared their end.

"They could have got away, I'm told,
And joined me here in Marylebne,
But Grannie was so sick and old,
They could not leave her there alone.
When they were seized she cried and cried:
Thank God! 'Twas in her bed she died.

Magic Locket

There's a wood nymph in my pocket
I keep her close to me
Around her neck a golden locket
For everyone to see
I know magic; and so does she
She stays close and watches me
I know magic
I know magic
The golden locket has a key

There's a wood nymph in my pocket
I only show a few
When the key goes in the sprocket
Just watch what it can do
I turn the key when it goes in
And then the room will start to spin
I turn the key
I turn the key
The magic starts and then I grin

Only A Boche

We brought him in from between the lines: we'd better have let him lie;
For what's the use of risking one's skin for a tyke that's going to die?
What's the use of tearing him loose under a gruelling fire,
When he's shot in the head, and worse than dead, and all messed up on the wire?
However, I say, we brought him in. Diable! The mud was bad;
The trench was crooked and greasy and high, and oh, what a time we had!
And often we slipped, and often we tripped, but never he made a moan;
And how we were wet with blood and with sweat! but we carried him in like our own.

Now there he lies in the dug-out dim, awaiting the ambulance,
And the doctor shrugs his shoulders at him, and remarks, "He hasn't a chance."
And we squat and smoke at our game of bridge on the glistening, straw-packed floor,
And above our oaths we can hear his breath deep-drawn in a kind of snore.
For the dressing station is long and low, and the candles gutter dim,
And the mean light falls on the cold clay walls and our faces bristly and grim;
And we flap our cards on the lousy straw, and we laugh and jibe as we play,
And you'd never know that the cursed foe was less than a mile away.
As we con our cards in the rancid gloom, oppressed by that snoring breath,
You'd never dream that our broad roof-beam was swept by the broom of death.

Locket

Can I see your world
through your locket
counting the thoughts of forgotten
drifting alone then the sorrow
passing the time or is it borrowed

can I see your world
can I see your world
can I see your world
through your locket
painting her mind
makes her forget
places they've gone to
but paths not traveled yet
looking to the day
when the heavens take her away

will you take me there
will you take me
can I speak to you there
