Quotes about lawless
Lawless Avenues
Papa hit him, mama kissed him
Made him go to catechism
With the sisters in their black and white
And all the time those city streets
Were teaching him another kind of wisdom
When to run and when to fight
Up at the playground after school
Listening to tales of the prison system
And those lawless avenues
Dawn on a half darkened street
A childs footsteps repeat
And something there turns them
Down those lawless avenues
Silent joe went down so bad
He was the strongest fighter the avenues had
Stabbed in the chest--he went down swinging
Someone from some other part of town
No one even seen it coming down
And you dont hear no church bells ringing
And in the violent night the police light

The Cageing Of Ares
[Iliad, v. V. 385--Dedicated to the Council at The Hague.]
How big of breast our Mother Gaea laughed
At sight of her boy Giants on the leap
Each over other as they neighboured home,
Fronting the day's descent across green slopes,
And up fired mountain crags their shadows danced.
Close with them in their fun, she scarce could guess,
Though these two billowy urchins reeked of craft,
It signalled some adventurous master-trick
To set Olympians buzzing in debate,
Lest it might be their godhead undermined,
The Tyranny menaced. Ephialtes high
On shoulders of his brother Otos waved
For the bull-bellowings given to grand good news,
Compact, complexioned in his gleeful roar
While Otos aped the prisoner's wrists and knees,
With doleful sniffs between recurrent howls;
Till Gaea's lap receiving them, they stretched,
And both upon her bosom shaken to speech,

Silhouettes In Disguise
Silhouettes debate then they test their fate
Pride is on the line the signs are dangerous
Hands too number to feel wrapped around the wheel
Tonight they face the fact some are never coming back
Silhouettes in Disguise leather hearts lawless eyes
Dancing shadows over rock and under fire
Some will cry "table's turned."
Some will die but none will learn
Silhouettes in Disguise crash and burn.
They pick the time and place then they fall from grace
They're riding on a rail trying to chase the dragon
Engines never cool trade their sins for fuel
That's what they're running on
When they're blown to kingdom come
Silhouettes in Disguise leather hearts lawless eyes
Dancing shadows over rock and under fire
Some will cry "table's turned."
Some will die but none will learn
Silhouettes in Disguise crash and burn.
Silhouettes in danger on the wrong side of the tracks

Geraint And Enid
O purblind race of miserable men,
How many among us at this very hour
Do forge a life-long trouble for ourselves,
By taking true for false, or false for true;
Here, through the feeble twilight of this world
Groping, how many, until we pass and reach
That other, where we see as we are seen!
So fared it with Geraint, who issuing forth
That morning, when they both had got to horse,
Perhaps because he loved her passionately,
And felt that tempest brooding round his heart,
Which, if he spoke at all, would break perforce
Upon a head so dear in thunder, said:
'Not at my side. I charge thee ride before,
Ever a good way on before; and this
I charge thee, on thy duty as a wife,
Whatever happens, not to speak to me,
No, not a word!' and Enid was aghast;
And forth they rode, but scarce three paces on,

From Pent-up Aching Rivers
FROM pent-up, aching rivers;
From that of myself, without which I were nothing;
From what I am determin'd to make illustrious, even if I stand sole
among men;
From my own voice resonant--singing the phallus,
Singing the song of procreation,
Singing the need of superb children, and therein superb grown people,
Singing the muscular urge and the blending,
Singing the bedfellow's song, (O resistless yearning!
O for any and each, the body correlative attracting!
O for you, whoever you are, your correlative body! O it, more than
all else, you delighting!) 10
--From the hungry gnaw that eats me night and day;
From native moments--from bashful pains--singing them;
Singing something yet unfound, though I have diligently sought it,
many a long year;
Singing the true song of the Soul, fitful, at random;
Singing what, to the Soul, entirely redeem'd her, the faithful one,
even the prostitute, who detain'd me when I went to the city;
Singing the song of prostitutes;

Vertumnus and Pomona : Ovid's Metamorphoses, book 14 [v. 623-771]
The fair Pomona flourish'd in his reign;
Of all the Virgins of the sylvan train,
None taught the trees a nobler race to bear,
Or more improv'd the vegetable care.
To her the shady grove, the flow'ry field,
The streams and fountains, no delights could yield;
'Twas all her joy the ripening fruits to tend,
And see the boughs with happy burthens bend.
The hook she bore instead of Cynthia's spear,
To lop the growth of the luxuriant year,
To decent form the lawless shoots to bring,
And teach th' obedient branches where to spring.
Now the cleft rind inserted graffs receives,
And yields an offspring more than nature gives;
Now sliding streams the thirsty plants renew,
And feed their fibres with reviving dew.
These cares alone her virgin breast employ,
Averse from Venus and the nuptial joy.
Her private orchards, wall'd on ev'ry side,
To lawless sylvans all access deny'd.

Fallen Angel
From this cloud where I hang; dangle in the blue
I spy you all tiny creatures on the ground below
Pull my being reckless got me strung up in the sky
Love is law now, see the lawless cry cut my cord now
Better than better off to die
CHORUS
Here am I your falling angel, dangle in the blue
I'm your angel and I wish that I could be like you
It's my time all I have for my crime is such
knowing that the thing I love is that which I can't touch
So I watch your fragile beauty changing in the sun
Love is law now, see the lawless cry cut my cord now
Better than better off to die
I can be then you
I don't believe at all
but I can be then you
I don't believe at all
that I can be like you

The Hall Of Justice
Part I
VAGRANT.
Take, take away thy barbarous hand,
And let me to thy Master speak;
Remit awhile the harsh command,
And hear me, or my heart will break.
MAGISTRATE.
Fond wretch! and what canst thou relate,
But deeds of sorrow, shame, and sin?
Thy crime is proved, thou know'st thy fate;
But come, thy tale!--begin, begin! -
VAGRANT.
My crime!--This sick'ning child to feed.
I seized the food, your witness saw;

Mister Majestic
Mister majestic fires a gun
Mister majestic
He got a lie on his tongue
You cant help but listen
He got a way with words
Dont ask useless questions
Unless you want to
Leave this world
Madam odessa carries a knife
Across to the jailhouse
In her pretty style
She aint looking out for business
She got a way with words
She is gonna take that man
For what he done to her
This was how the west was won
Lawless and unruly
Now I guess whats done, is done
She took her old man in cold blood
He hit the deck

Falling Angel
(duran duran)
From this cloud where I hang, dangled in the blue
I spy you all tiny creatures on the ground below
For my being reckless got me strung up in the sky
Love is flawed now, see the lawless cry
Cut my cord now, better then, better off to die
Here am i, your falling angel, dangled in the blue
Im your angel, and I wish that I could be like you
Its my time, all I have for my crime is such
Knowing that the thing I love is that which I cant touch
So I watch your fragile beauty changing in the sun
Love is flawed now, see the lawless cry
Cut my cord now, better then, better off to die
But here am i, your falling angel, dangled in the blue
Im your angel, how I wish that I could be with
Falling angel, dangled in the blue
Im your angel, and I wish that I could be like you
I believe in you, I dont believe it all
But I believe in you, I dont believe it all
But I believe in you, I dont believe it all
