Quotes about hardship

Sir Orfeo

We often read and written find,
as learned men do us remind,
that lays that now the harpers sing
are wrought of many a marvellous thing.
Some are of weal, and some of woe,
and some do joy and gladness know;
in some are guile and treachery told,
in some the deeds that chanced of old;
some are of jests and ribaldry,
and some are tales of Faërie.
Of all the things that men may heed
'tis most of love they sing indeed.

In Britain all these lays are writ,
there issued first in rhyming fit,
concerning adventures in those days
whereof the Britons made their lays;
for when they heard men anywhere
tell of adventures that there were,
they took their harps in their delight

Studies have consistently shown that financial hardship is the biggest obstacle to heterosexual marriage, yet the Republican leadership has done precious little to help address the financial hardship faced by American families.

Affirmation Of Success

At all times remember. To earth.
People are born; to learn.

By hardship. Learning more permanently
more quickly. Than by necessary kindness.
Hardship to purge; fatal fracturing faults.
Humans undergo stresses. Which drive
almost. But normally not quite. To breaking
point. So spirituality; gained; may sustain
tested. Fatal faults exercised eradicated.

Faith in ourselves faith to achieve.
Heightened aspirations goals; past all odds
uncounted. Believing first forming ourselves.
Our powers abilities. To nurture generate.
Faith which endures; equates to; belief come true.
At breaking point; faith must protect; shield.

Let not doubt. The negative of faith
intrude. We shall; only succeed. By

For Millions Out There

For millions out there life is an Earthly Hell
Of hardship and suffering they only can tell
In camps overcrowded with climate and war refugees
Many suffer and die of hunger and disease.

Condemned to Homelessness, Statelessness and Poverty by birth circumstance
Of any success in life they do not stand a chance
The poor and forgotten not wanted anywhere
For many life can be so hard in the big World out there.

In the Human World where the gap between the haves and have nots keeps growing ever wide
Many do end their miserable lives in suicide
And more sad stories of oppression and dispossession we read of and hear every day
Equality from Humanity seems so far away.

A right to a fair go Human Society them does deny
Only to the lucky minority life choices apply
Of hardship and Homelessness and poverty they know
And in a time of economic depression and climate change their numbers do grow.

The Dark Continent

'Africa my beginning, Africa my end. I was born here and I will die here'
Africa you bear my hopes and fears
Poverty, famine, crime and AIDS are words which plague Mother Africa's name
These demons bring me shame
While people try to make Africa better, a few let the hardship overpower them
Shame on them
They give up hope and go about their knavish ways
Even though there's hope on the horizon, be that as it may
They continue to destroy what little Mother Africa has
Africa is no longer what she was
'Mother Africa is weeping'
Yet a new dawn may be creeping
Mother Africa and her children are beautiful, they know their place in nature
Even though hardship may corrupt good nature
In the name of ALL that is good, I hope Africa will rise one day
And we'll stop the suffering before she frays
The words upon a famous poet, I hear
'Africa my beginning, Africa my end. I was born here and I will die here'

Heart touching

It is heart touching
Self pity and lots of teaching
Anybody may leave the scene
As no such hardship is eve seen

The heart is like chicken
Wants to become lion hearted even
But trouble and hardship always elude
Puzzle to escape and uncertainty to include

The individuals fight in street
Never think of love and greet
God only knows what makes them to shed blood
When we have not enough to eat as food

I am subjected to repeated insults
I struggle hard with no results
Still I trust almighty with no complaints
Look towards sky but never fall down or faint

Climb To Claim!

modern human at the markets,
want to get everything quicker,
the wrapped up delicious imported fruits,
look clean with no holes as the local apples,
the oranges gone through bathing process,
to be exported, the juicy fruits of,
rambuttan, Durians, Mangoes and bananas,
mostly organic and visited by their friends,
the pest and plucked by human, painfully bitten,
ask the kid where she gets the mango from,
she may say 'from the stores', not knowing hardship,
Let every kid learn the truth,
nothing comes easier on their plates.

I had climbed the trees of various textures,
When I was young, I was close to the nature,
Whenever I went back home for holidays,
Pesticides not around to declare mayday,
For insects, mollusk and escaped crustaceans,
Train like millipede with red and black hues,

Her Own Axies

The earth rotates on its own axis
It has some theory behind or thesis
Scientists have proved it beyond doubt
There remains nothing to talk about

It may have many reasons to support
But as mother, I have only one destination and port
The ship has already anchored safely
I have reason to breathe happily

Whole of world is around me and my children
That gives me real joy when they are not near even
The thought about their being with me is enough
I have every reason to feel happy and make laugh

All mothers of world are of same brand and nature
They find nothing in children except bright future
The sun may rise or not but children may make her day
Hardship or no hardship, she has to feel it in same way

A strong union

I was dismayed to look at lovely bond
Even birds are making love noise and are very fond
They may be sky bound but come down
To meet and see the family of their own

Is it not natural phenomenon to feel attached?
In real time, eyes roam over and get searched
They find out the most beautiful object
To be liked and absolutely with no chance to reject

To desire of such things is not at all guilt
This is divine feeling and always inbuilt
You will never hate a person
But look forward to him with some solid reasons

Even two staunch enemies meet and embrace
This is beautiful combination to face
Complete hatred is vanished in matter of seconds
What a magic for lovely feelings to end?

The Australiad - (A poem for children.)

'Twas brave De Quiros bent the knee before the King of Spain,
And “sire,” he said, “I bring thy ships in safety home again
From seas unsailed of mariner in all the days of yore,
Where reefs and islets, insect-built, arise from ocean's floor.
And, sire, the land we sought is found, its coasts lay full in view
When homeward bound, perforce, I sailed, at the bidding of my crew.
Terra Australis1 called I it; and linked therewith the name
Of Him who guideth, as of old, in cloud and starry flame.
And grant me ships again,” he said, “and southward let me go,
A new Peru may wait thee there, another Mexico.”

A threadbare suitor, year by year, “There is a land,” said he;
While King and Court grew weary of this old man of the sea;
For there were heretics to burn, and Holland to subdue,
And England to be humbled, (which this day remains to do,)
O land he named, but never saw, his memory revere!
The gallant disappointed heart, let him be honoured here!

Meanwhile the hardy Dutchmen came, as ancient charts attest,
Hartog, and Nuyts, and Carpenter, and Tasman, and the rest,
