Tenebrae
At the chill high tide of the night,
At the turn of the fluctuant hours,
When the waters of time are at height,
In a vision arose on my sight
The kingdoms of earth and the powers.
In a dream without lightening of eyes
I saw them, children of earth,
Nations and races arise,
Each one after his wise,
Signed with the sign of his birth.
Sound was none of their feet,
Light was none of their faces;
In their lips breath was not, or heat,
But a subtle murmur and sweet
As of water in wan waste places.
Pale as from passionate years,
Years unassuaged of desire,

The Old Chartist
I
Whate'er I be, old England is my dam!
So there's my answer to the judges, clear.
I'm nothing of a fox, nor of a lamb;
I don't know how to bleat nor how to leer:
I'm for the nation!
That's why you see me by the wayside here,
Returning home from transportation.
II
It's Summer in her bath this morn, I think.
I'm fresh as dew, and chirpy as the birds:
And just for joy to see old England wink
Thro' leaves again, I could harangue the herds:
Isn't it something
To speak out like a man when you've got words,
And prove you're not a stupid dumb thing?

The Battle of Flodden Field
'Twas on the 9th of September, a very beautiful day,
That a numerous English army came in grand array,
And pitched their tents on Flodden field so green
In the year of our Lord fifteen hundred and thirteen.
And on the ridge of Braxton hill the Scottish army lay,
All beautifully arrayed, and eager for the fray,
And near by stood their noble king on that eventful day,
With a sad and heavy heart, but in it no dismay.
And around him were his nobles, both in church and state,
And they felt a little dispirited regarding the king's fate;
For the independence of bonnie Scotland was at stake,
And if they lost the battle, many a heart would break.
And as King James viewed the enemy he really wondered,
Because he saw by them he was greatly outnumbered,
And he knew that the struggle would be desperate to the last,
And for Scotland's weal or woe the die was cast.

Darkness, Let Me Enter
Darkness, let me enter. Oblivion, open your arms.
Sweet liberty, lengthen my chain by light years.
Venus in the Pleiades, let me feel your charms.
I want to ride the light, o yes I do, as far as I can
toward some flowering of the mystery
I can add myself to and bloom as the stars do.
My most intimate familiar, solitude, eras of it,
yet it's never known my name. My best feature
once you get pass the indignation and the anger,
compassion. And though love seems to me
the sum of many hearts, trying to express itself
as one, when have I not been a doorway to the dead?
When have I ever preferred my happiness
even as my last rainbow bridge went up in flames
and there was no where else to cross before the falls,
to that of the ironic beatitudes of the forbidden and the blessed?
Make me a star again one day with a few habitable planets,
each with at least one moon that can make me crazy as this one.
Promise? Promise me it will be so and mean it.

In The Beginning
In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils
Of all mans sins.......
But in time
The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them.......
Now many many life times later
Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down,
Only corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood-stained streets.......
It has been written
Those who have the youth
Have the future
So come now children of the beast

You Have No Idea
You have no idea how much I love you
What I would do for your natural touch
And you have no idea just how I'd hold you
When I am woken from a dream, something bad had happened to us
But I would talk my mouth off
If I thought, oh yes, baby
It would glue you forever to me
And I've worn out my pride
And I've torn at the sky
And I've beaten at the devil
With one heathenist sigh
And I'd never let anyone harm you while I'm alive
I'd never let anyone harm you while I'm alive
You have no idea how much it moves me
Just staring deeply into your green eyes
And you have no idea just how completely I adore you
You would be so surprised
But I would talk my mouth off
If I thought, oh yes, baby
It would glue you forever to me

How Many Times
How many years keep on slipping away
And it seems that your life doesnt matter, you never had a chance
How many ways is a love torn apart
And you look to your heart for some answers, dont let it slip away
Cant blame myself anymore, Ive been beaten and accused before
Well I took some bad advice, and I paid too high a price
I could sell my soul, you know I wouldnt think twice
Chorus:
How many times must a man fall down, I said whoa-oh-oh oh-oh-oh oh
How many dreams have to fall to the ground
It goes on an on an on an on an on, yeah
How many times do you look for some sign
That theres hope, and your life has some meaning, almost every day, hey, hey
Maybe I was born to wander, I got no high hopes any longer
So tell me my friend, just where does it end
Is nothin ever gonna free me from this hell Im livin in
Chorus
(instrumental break)
Cant blame myself anymore, Ive been beaten and accused before
So tell me my friend, just where does it end

Prisoner
Chorus:
Im your prisoner
You got me chained up to your love
Im your prisoner hey, hey
Someone better free me
From these thoughts that Im thinking of
Love to be in your arms
Im a captive of your charms
The walls are much too high
Now I just wanna touch the sky
I never thought your love would
Threaten to hold me this way
Chorus
All beaten and abuse
Now I feel tied up and misused
I was please up from the start
No one sees my broken heart
I never thought your love would
Threaten to hold me this way
Im your prisoner Im your prisoner for your love
